Riversleigh is the oldest two storey timber building remaining in the Ballina Shire and is a unique example of a timber Victorian Georgian style building.
It is a unique example of a timber Victorian Georgian style building. Riversleigh was built in 1879 by the Heugh family who operated a local saw-mill. Cedar is used extensively throughout the building in wall panelling, the main staircase, architraves and skirting boards with the floors being wide cut teak.
