The Rainbow Region Organic Market in Lismore is one of the best organic markets around. This farmers market is held every Tuesday Morning at the Lismore Showgrounds (near the Alexander Parade entrance). It opens bright and early at 7:30am and finished around 11:00am. Lismore is a large town located a 45-minute drive south west of Byron Bay. The town has many large shops, great cafes, and restaurants.

This organic Farmers Market began way back in 1999. The great thing about the Rainbow Region Market is that it has always been, and still is, run and managed by the market stallholders themselves. The stallholders meet up on the first Tuesday of each month to discuss how to improve the Rainbow Region Markets, ensuring that visitors get the best quality produce at the best price possible.

The atmosphere of this market is truly great. It is 100% child and toddler friendly, so bring along the kids too.

The fruit and vegetables you will find at this farmers market will be some of the freshest you have ever seen. In fact, the only way they could be fresher is if you picked them from your garden yourself. If you are interested in growing your own veggies, asking the friendly stallholders at the Rainbow Region market is a great place to start.

The market is committed to providing the public with completely organic, local, fresh produce. Buying food locally, especially organic food, is one of the best ways you can reduce your carbon footprint. If the food doesn’t have to travel far, it is guaranteed to taste better, and last longer. Most of the food at the Rainbow Region Organic Market has travelled a maximum of 20km from where it was grown.
