Byron Bay Tango Festival 2017

The iconic Byron Bay Community Centre will again be our festival home. A wonderful venue staffed by volunteers and professionals who embody the embracing character of Byron Bay.

The unbelievably charming and dynamic Gustavo Rosas and Gisela Natoli will weave their magic in the master-class and on the dance floor. I am so looking forward to their arrival!

Festival of the Seven Seas

Festival of the Seven Seas is a fundraiser for local conservation groups Plastic Free Byron and Positive Change for Marine Life and will work to raise awareness of the crisis faced by the world’s oceans.

The inaugural Festival of the Seven Seas will be held at Byron Bay Brewery on Sunday 20 August and will be an all-day family friendly event. The day will be educational and will feature guest speakers and demonstrations suitable for children of all ages.

Street Food Truck Party

Holy smokes! Our last event in the carpark of the Byron Brewery on Skinners Shoot Rd went off! We cannot wait to do it again Saturday July 8th 4pm-9pm at this family friendly venue!

Lots of new foodies will be serving up the most delicious gourmet street food + inside you will find a handmade and vintage rummage sale + the BEST beers ever and live music.

Stars of Byron Shire – Dance For Cancer

Stars of Byron Shire- Dance For Cancer is a high profile gala event which will be held in the Byron Shire on Saturday 17th June 2017 at the Mullumbimby Ex – Services Club.

Homemade Jam

A new spin on Sunday brunch! Breakfast and live music served in the surroundings of our lush garden, in conjunction with our dear mate Diego from Valiant Music to present a roster of the most exciting local and touring artists around. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better place to read the morning paper on a Sunday, grab a bite and listen to chilled out tunes played by musos right in front of your eyes.

This is set to become a Bruns Institution! Sundays have never sounded so good.

Byron Flea Market

The Byron Flea is a monthly market, held on the 2nd Saturday, nestled in the lush parklands of Byron Bay. Managed by Byron Youth Service this is a social enterprise aimed at giving young people opportunities and bringing the community together, something the people of Byron love to do.

Old & Gold Festival 2017

Our beloved, award-winning Old & Gold Festival is just around the corner on SATURDAY 10 JUNE (JUNE LONG WEEKEND) in Brunswick Heads.

There are four large Fairs to browse, horse and carriage rides, music, environmental demonstrations, amazing food, fundraising BBQs, stalls of all shapes and sizes, a new barn dance and kids show (at the Brunswick Picture House), the Lucky Penny prize wheel at the Memorial Hall entry, Devonshire teas at the CWA, plus some awesome raffles (win a retro bike from Brunswick Heads Bikes) at the Indoor Collectables Fair (Memorial Hall).

Mullum2Bruns Paddle

We are pleased to announce the Mullum2Bruns Paddle will take place on Sunday 28 May. You may fancy a leisurely 10k paddle down the Brunswick River or maybe you would prefer a 10k Sunday morning workout via a Paddle Challenge.

Byron Bay Fine Food & Beverage Festival

Byron Bay Fine Food & Beverage Festival promises to be a unique event in a beautiful parkland setting adjoining Elements Of Byron Resort.

Exhibitors include Australian boutique wineries, unique craft beer, cider and distillers, as well as 12 of the top local chefs plus Artisan Producers from all over Australia

Register on the day for complimentary food and beverage masterclasses; maximum 50 people per class. Sit back relax and enjoy the live music.

Saturday June 3rd, 2017. 11am till 7pm. The grounds of Elements Byron Bay, Bayshore Drive, Byron Bay.

Seniors Expo

You are invited to the Seniors Expo coming up next Tuesday 7th March at the Mullumbimby Civic Hall from 9am – 12:30pm

This is a FREE community event – a delicious brunch will be served; the Winner of 2017 Positive Ageing Award will be presented by Mayor Simon Richardson and then there will be delightful entertainment from talented seniors in the region Musician Peter Haddock, Comedian June Hordern, Nai Dancers, Swing Dancer, Ukulele band and much more!

Enjoy an evening of laugh out loud comedy from Australia and across the world with the Short Laughs Comedy programme, Highlights include the hilarious ‘5 Tales About Technology’ from Canada, (view trailer) an anthology short that takes a darkly comic look at the absurd realities of how modern technology affects our daily lives; whilst ‘Facon’ from Australia is a funny and quirky insight into our modern diet, ‘Tia is an avid meat eater who is strictly a vegan hipster in public.

Best Of Australian Shorts - Flickerfest

oin us as we celebrate a diverse range of stories from across Australia that celebrate our unique identity and culture with our Best Of Australian Shorts programme, Highlights include ‘Messiah’ written & directed by Damian Walshe-Howling, (view trailer) ‘In a playful collision of cultures, a hapless Irishman and his Parisian girlfriend get more than they bargained for when they encounter a particularly mischievous stranger (David Gulpilil) in the spectacular Australian wilderness’. Also included is the fun short ‘The Spice Sisters’ starring local comedian Sandy (Ghandi) Arunha.
