Spring School Holidays in Byron

You are here

Making plans for the October School Holidays in Byron Bay (QLD 20 Sept - 8 Oct 2019 / NSW 30 Sept - 11 Oct 2019)? Spring is a beautiful time to come to Byron Bay and enjoy some bonding time outdoors as a family. And there is no shortage of exciting options to keep everyone happy and healthy these school holidays. Here’s a few suggestions.

Explore Nature

Get out on The Farm with the kids and learn some new skills by participating in one of the many workshops available during the school holidays. Get the kids moving and enjoying the sunshine by walking the Cape Byron Walking Trail. Don’t forget to look out for whales or even better get the kids up close and personal with the whales on a whale watching tour. Get back to nature at one of the many stunning bush walks and waterfalls around Byron. Another great option that kids will love is a workshop with Brunswick Bush School, held in Brunswick Heads. While in Brunswick, check out the very popular, Fairy Trail.

Get Active

Take advantage of the perfect Spring weather and get active outdoors. How about a surf lesson for the whole family or just a paddle in the water at any one of Byron Bay’s gorgeous beaches.  Another way to enjoy the Byron coastline is to go horse riding on the beach. If you prefer not to get wet, why not get the kids into a skateboarding workshop with Byron Bay Skate School or a Circus Arts class.

Enjoy the Show

The Byron Theatre and The Brunswick Picture House both host some entertaining shows especially for kids over the school holidays. No holiday is complete without seeing the latest kids movie on the big screen. Byron Bay is fortunate to have a beautiful new cinema right in town, head over to Palace Cinema to see what’s on these school holidays.

Family Friendly Accommodation

With all these amazing activities to experience, you need more than just one day to fit everything in. Plan to come for a few days or even a couple of weeks. There is plenty of family-friendly accommodation in and around Byron Bay.
