HEY, HO, LET’S GO! Crab Carnival hits Byron Bay for the first year ever! The ultimate celebration of the crustacean, 28 days of crabby festivities will run from Monday 20th March until Sunday 16th April 2017 at the Balcony Bay & Oyster Co.
Sean Connolly brings you his favourite crab themed dishes (classic and modern) featuring our crittery-hero – serving a variety of the species, sustainably sourced from local and international waters. Treats such as: Crab filled Doughnut Holes, King Crab Mac & Cheeses, Crab Po Boy and Typhoon Shelter Mud Crab (to name a few)!
And if that wasn’t enough, every Thursday night from 6pm, a Louisiana Broil Steam Pot will be on offer in the restaurant – bibs, mallets and crackers will be provided... Satisfaction guaranteed!
A selection of drinks specials will be on offer throughout the carnival. Signature cocktails with a crabby-twist have been designed to tickle the taste buds and whet the whistle!
Crabby Mary – your favourite crab cocktail is back! A lip smacking bloody Mary mix, with a healthy measure of vodka and topped off with a crab claw for a cracking good time!
Crab Apple Sangria – the perfect tipple to share with friends, Sangria Blanco with a Balcony twist! Featuring chardonnay, St Remys, peach liqueur, lemonade, orange & mint
A Cracking Good Thyme – We’ve teamed up with Husk Distillers the local heros behind Ink Gin to give you this refreshing summer spritz. Ink gin gets a peachy twist, finished with tonic, thyme & lemon twirl!
