The Byron Bay International Fashion Festival
You are here
The Byron Bay International Fashion Festival is back again in 2017, taking place at the Elements of Byron Resort on April 29.
Here’s a taste of what you can expect at this year’s ‘new wave festival’.
Local, National and International Fashion
With three distinctive fashion shows, the Byron Bay International Fashion Festival delivers a world-class showcase of established and up-and-coming talent.
At 5pm, seven designers will showcase their summer 2017 swimwear collections in the Banksia Pavilion. At 7pm, six designers from around Australia and the world will present their casual collection. At 9pm, six additional designers will introduce their new eveningwear collections. Finally, a ‘nightclub’ themed group session will conclude the fashion shows for 2017.
The festival’s fashion shows are open to all-day pass holders, and are also independently ticketed.
The Byron Bay International Fashion Festival aims to explore the power and diversity of fashion across a range of mediums. In light of this, the festival will host a fashion film screening at 8pm that showcases the evolving role of fashion in art-house filmmaking.
An amalgamation of body art, fashion, and contemporary dance, the festival will also welcome back the acclaimed modern dance performance.
Food and Drink
From 4pm, the Banksia Pavilion Courtyard will come to life with an all-day, all-night, and all-female DJ program and Festival Bar. Here, you can plan your evening, visit the information desk, and mingle with other festival goers, including models, designers and photographers.
Dining at the festival provides another opportunity to network with buyers, modeling agencies, and other industry professionals. Lunch runs all day at a discounted price at Elements of Byron’s GRAZE restaurant.
The Byron Bay International Fashion Festival 2017 will conclude with infamous ‘Rock the Runway’ after party. Kicking off at 10pm, the party will see celebrity appearances, variety acts, and a headlining DJ performance.
