The Cape Byron String Quartet has been providing classical music in the Northern Rivers region for over ten years. As the only classical string quartet in the region, we have provided an elegant and refined atmosphere for hundreds of weddings since 1997, from churches, to gardens, to boats, to beaches and remote hilltops! We are versatile and are accustomed to playing in a variety of locations and environments.
The Quartet is comprised of Conservatorium graduates, highly experienced orchestral professionals and string teachers.
We can provide the following combinations:- Quartet ~ two violins, viola and cello
- Trio ~ two violins and cello/ violin, viola and cello
- Duo ~ two violins/ violin and viola/ violin and cello
The Cape Byron String Quartet is available to play throughout the region including Byron Bay, Lismore, Ballina and Tweed Heads. We are happy to travel further a field (e.g. Gold Coast, Grafton, Casino) with a small travel fee attached.
CEREMONY
A wedding is an occasion of immense spiritual significance, and from antiquity classical music has accompanied the service because its refined aesthetic.
The Cape Byron String Quartet specializes in wedding ceremonies and receptions. Our wide experience furnishes us with not only performance skills but also discretionary qualities of coordination, timing and subtlety. These are especially vital within the delicate dynamic of a service.
There are 5 main sections where wedding ceremony music is usually performed
- As guests arrive and are seated
- Processional
- Signing of the Register
- Recessional
- Guests leave
We arrive early: All musicians arrive 30 minutes before the booking time. This means that when your guests arrive, the musicians are ready to play. It looks very unprofessional for the musicians to be racing in and setting up just before the bride walks down the aisle! It also means that if something does go wrong, we are still able to start on time.
You get personal attention: We are a first-rate wedding service. We make sure that your wedding or function music is perfect. The manager Oren Siedler can take the time with you to make sure you are happy with all the arrangements. Oren checks e-mails daily and you can also ring for a personal phone consultation.
We are versatile: If you have a special song in mind, even if it is not of part of our regular repertoire, we can play it as long as it is suitable for the combination you have chosen. We can also advise you as to the music appropriate combination for your requirements. We can play outdoors and on beaches.
We have different musical configurations available: Even though many people think of a string quartet when they go to book wedding music, there are other lovely combinations available which may be more suitable for your needs. A duo or trio may be more appropriate for you if you are having a smaller wedding or function.
Nothing is too much trouble: We understand that arrangements can often change, especially when you are organising a big event like a wedding. Sometimes in the weeks before the wedding the finer details can change as everything comes into focus. Your happiness is our main concern, so if you need to change a song, or the time etc. we are more than happy to accommodate your needs where possible.
