Fishmonger's in Byron Bay was established in 1999 and has an excellent reputation for fresh, fast seafood amongst both locals and holiday visitors.
Mongers is "gourmet fish and chips" and all of the menu items are prepared daily on site by qualified chefs - the chips are cut by hand daily, the Calamari is crumbed in house, the oysters shucked to order and the dipping sauces house made.
In addition to the daily menu, there are up to three daily market specials which you can accompany with either hand cut chips, a generous signature salad with a golden wedge of corn and crispy kumera or tempura vegetables.
All the food is served in recyclable cardboard boxes and can be eaten in or taken away.
In 2003 the London Times praised Fishmongers Byron Bay as having one of the world’s best tasting chips. Fishmongers Bondi (which opened in August 2005) was recently voted by the Sydney Morning Herald as having Sydney’s best chip!
