Gillies Cottage Bangalow
Your holiday 'home from home'
email : gillies@byron-bay.com

Susie and Mick invite you stay at Gillies Cottage in the heart of the heritage village of Bangalow. Just 10 minutes from Byron Bay and situated 2 minutes walk from restaurants, shops and cafes, Gillies Cottage provides you with all the comforts of home in the perfect position to explore both the coast and the hinterland.

Gillies Cottage was built in about 1910 and is a charming weatherboard cottage that was completely renovated in 2000, maintaining its old charm but providing modern day conveniences. Decorated with a fresh colour scheme and polished floors, its furnishings include Australian & Indian antiques. Accommodation comprises two bedrooms each with a queen size bed, with electric blankets for winter. The large and comfortable eat-in kitchen has units hand-crafted in local timber and is well equipped for all your cooking needs. There's a CD player/radio to keep you entertained and a gas heater for chilly winter evenings. The cosy snug has TV/VCR and a selection of books, and the bright bathroom with corner bath and shower features a hand-crafted timber vanity. French doors open onto a timber deck overlooking the rear garden - the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee.

Bangalow is nestled in the rolling hills behind Byron Bay. Originally settled in the late 1800s, it still retains its heritage character with many beautiful turn-of-last-century buildings in the main street which now house restaurants, galleries, cafes & specialty shops. Bangalow's popular market, held on the 4th Sunday of every month, is busy & colourful and not to be missed.
